Move out and give back: College students donate over 11,000 pounds of items to Goodwill
Goodwill Industries Serving Southeast Nebraska, Inc. partnered with three universities for their annual Campus Move-Out Drive, helping students declutter during and after spring semester finals. This year, students from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, Concordia University and Nebraska Wesleyan University donated a total of 11,769 pounds of items to Goodwill.
When students donate to Goodwill, they help change lives through the power of work. The revenue from Goodwill's thrift stores in Lincoln and York helps fund local programs that assist job seekers as they overcome barriers to employment. In 2025 alone, Goodwill served over 6,300 individuals with employment-related services, such as job skills training, mentorship, mock interviews and more. Thanks to community donors, Goodwill also diverted over 2.3 million pounds of materials from the local landfill. Goodwill is grateful for support from organizations like UNL, Concordia and Wesleyan that make this impact possible.
