Wayne State finished the match with a .208 hitting percentage compared to Winona State's .179. WSU had six more kills than WSC, 43-37, but the Wildcats forced 21 attack errors and took advantage of nine service errors by the Warriors.
Hanel, Miller and Robles each had nine kills for Wayne State. Hanel added a team-high four blocks and had two service aces along with Romano. Defensive specialist Reese Johnson accounted for 14 digs with Mattie Kamery adding 13 and Anna Borner 10. Romano handed out 29 set assists.
