JT Thomas finished his re-ride and a Pony Express volunteer rushed in to transfer the mochila to the next rider at an exchange near Chimney Rock on June 9.

Cathy Stevens, president of the Nebraska Pony Express Association, pointed out the locked cantinas that carry the postage stamped letters on the 10-day re-ride trail of the Pony Express that started in St. Joseph, Missouri, on June 6.
