Hundreds of Lincoln High and Lincoln Northeast students gathered in front of the Capitol on Wednesday, waving signs and flags while protesting federal immigration enforcement.
With no deal in sight, Congress will have to agree to another stopgap by Friday to buy more time for negotiations between Senate Democrats and the White House about federal immigration enforcement or allow a shutdown to occur.
