With Memorial Day weekend starting Friday, it’s the unofficial start to summer activities, including cookouts, family gatherings and perhaps a class reunion or two.
Two special Memorial Day ceremonies are planned in Grand Island. The first starts at 8:30 a.m. at the Nebraska Veterans Cemetery, 3270 W. Capital Ave. A little later that morning and just down the street, the United Veterans Club will host its 47th annual Memorial Day Services at Hall County Veterans Memorial Park, 1914 W.
