With bids significantly exceeding engineer estimates, the Buffalo County Board of Commissioners on Tuesday voted to reject bids from three contractors to build a pair of pickleball courts at Ravenna Lake.

This week’s Kearney Hub athlete of the week is Kearney’s Addison Garringer. The Bearcat sophomore was named the Kearney Invite girl athlete of the meet after winning the 400 with a school-record 56.98, while tying a school record in the 200 with a winning time of 25.23. She broke Lauren Psota’s record of 57.51 set in 2011 and tied Daisy Maessner’s time she set in 2017. The 400 time is the best time in Class A, while the 200 time is the second in Class A. She also helped the 1,600 relay team win with Class A best 4:01.35
