OMAHA — The Millard West High School marching band took top honors Saturday at the 2023 Nebraska State Bandmasters Association marching contest in Omaha.

Favorable weather at Saturday's state band contest helped to fill the stands at Buell Stadium. Organizers estimated that throughout the daylong event as many as 8,000 people attended, bands included.
