Racine Mayor Cory Mason lauded the Racine Dominican Sisters for their “profound and lasting impact” in the area. 

“Girls Can Do It Too!" by Kidia Burns aims to get girls interested in nontraditional and trades careers.

The manufacturer will employ about 240 people when building improvements are completed, according to a broker for the company.

The new market is scheduled to open May 9, operating from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturdays through October.

To use the pantry, people need photo identification and a piece of mail from the past 30 days verifying their Racine County address.

The pilot program provides assistance in both English in Spanish.

The layoffs come as the company moves to eliminate its operations department, according to a memo from the Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development.

The farmers market in Downtown Racine will return for its second summer starting June 11.

They include bars, cafes and a smoothie shop.

One has since reopened.

The Sturtevant-based company will move into the new space in Racine on March 1.

Roy and Meagan Petersen plan to bring a "new concept" to the site that has held several restaurants over the years, including Corner House and the Chancery.
