Each flag in the Avenue of Flags display was placed atop the casket of a military veteran. The flag includes the name and information about that veteran.
Lori O'Brien uses a Sharpie to write the veteran's name, branch of service, rank and the war the veteran served in on the side of the flag that draped his or her casket.
Memorial Day services will begin at 10 a.m. Monday at Kearney Cemetery at 4400 I Ave.
Jason Baker from American Legion Post #52 will be the master of ceremonies. Retired Air Force veteran John Stewart will speak. The 1733 Barbershop Chorus will sing.
In case of rain, the service will be held at First Presbyterian Church at 4511 Sixth Ave.
