After a decade of dedicated service as chief financial and administrative officer, Jason Kennedy has been promoted to president and chief operating officer of Nebraska Community Foundation (NCF), a statewide organization focused on strengthening Nebraska communities through philanthropy.
In his new role, Kennedy will oversee financial management, daily operations and human resources for the growing organization. Since its founding in 1994, NCF has expanded its network to include more than 1,500 volunteers serving 266 hometowns across Greater Nebraska. Over that time, the foundation’s assets have grown to $278 million, including $189 million in endowed funds that will support Nebraska communities in perpetuity. In total, NCF has reinvested $594 million back into Nebraska’s people and places.
“I’m excited for Jason and for the NCF network,” said Jeff Yost, NCF’s chief executive officer. “Our extraordinary growth and momentum require us to continually evaluate how our organizational structure best supports staff, volunteers and communities. This leadership evolution represents an important step forward for NCF.”
Jeff Yost will continue serving as CEO, focusing on the foundation’s long-term strategic direction and business planning. His work will center on innovation, new program development and advancing resources to support NCF’s continued growth, impact and efforts to build stronger communities and a Greater Nebraska.
