Residents in Pottawattamie County will have the opportunity to access multiple county services outside of regular business hours during the next Traveling Office Hours event on Tuesday, June 9, at Crescent City Hall, located at 102 W. Florence Street in Crescent. County staff from multiple departments will be available from 4:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
Originally launched by the Pottawattamie County Recorder's Office, Traveling Office Hours brings county services directly into communities throughout the county, making it easier for residents to access information, complete transactions, and connect with staff outside of regular courthouse hours.
This month's event marks an expansion of the program, with representatives from the Western Iowa Services Collaborative (WISC) Disability Access Point and Pottawattamie County Emergency Management Agency joining the Recorder's Office.
The Recorder's Office will be available to assist residents with recorder services and answer questions about property records, vital records, and other office functions.
Staff from the WISC Disability Access Point will provide information about available disability services and supports, assist residents with applications, help navigate disability-related resources, and answer questions about programs and care options.
The Emergency Management Agency will be available to share emergency preparedness information and help residents sign up for Alert Iowa, the state's emergency notification system. Alert Iowa provides timely notifications about severe weather, emergencies, and other public safety information that may impact local communities.
"Pottawattamie County is committed to making services more accessible for residents across the county," said Recorder Andrew Moats. "By bringing multiple departments together in one location, we're able to connect residents with valuable resources and information closer to where they live and at times that may be more convenient for them."
Residents are encouraged to stop by at any time during the event to learn more about county services, ask questions, and connect with county staff.
