Plans for the new Waverly Aquatic Center have been in the works since at least 2018, and renderings show a pool that would double the capacity of the city's aging city pool and include a lazy river, multiple slides and dedicated splash areas for youth. But the COVID-19 pandemic and escalating construction costs have kept the project from materializing. Take a look through this timeline of our coverage -- which will be continuously updated -- as the aquatic center project eyes the finish line.  Â
