REGULAR MEETING

The Valparaiso Village Board of

Trustees held a Regular Meeting

on Tuesday, May 14, 2019 at the

Village Offices. The agenda was

posted at the three designated locations.

Trustees were given notice.

Chairman Rezac opened the

meeting at 7:00 PM with Blazek,

Carlson, Clark and Homes in attendance.

Also present were Greg

Bouc, some local citizens, and representatives

from the Valparaiso

Insurance Agency, JEO Consulting

Group and Miller & Associates

Consulting Engineers.

Motion by Carlson, second by

Homes to approve the minutes of

the March meeting. YES: All. Motion

carried.

Dennis Siedel and Eric Byrd from

the Valparaiso Insurance Agency

reviewed the Village Insurance

Policy for 2019-2020.

Motion by Homes, second by

Clark to approve the Liquor License

Application for Vintage

Cork. YES: All. Motion carried.

Motion by Carlson, second by

Homes to approve the Building

Permit for Randy Blazek. YES: All.

Motion carried.

Motion by Clark, second by Carlson

to approve the Building Permit

for Rob Chmelka. YES: All. Motion

carried.

Motion by Carlson, second by

Homes to approve the Holley Subdivision.

YES: All. Motion carried.

Kay Maresh spoke on behalf of

the Val Parks & Rec in regard to

the possibility of a splash pad in

Valparaiso and its cost.

Motion by Homes, second by

Clark to join the Nebraska Cooperative

Government Joint Lottery.

YES: All. Motion carried.

Motion by Homes, second by

Clark to approve the Lottery Sales

Outlet at Harry’s Bar. YES: All.

Motion carried.

Motion by Clark, second by Carlson

to open a Separate Lottery

Proceeds Bank Account. YES: All.

Motion carried.

Motion by Clark, second by Carlson

to appoint Village Clerk Cheryl

Rieck as the NCG Audit Clerk. YES:

All. Motion carried.

Motion by Carlson, second by

Blazek to authorize payment of

$100.00 for the Lottery License Application

Fee. YES: All. Motion

carried.

Motion by Clark, second by

Homes to authorize Chairman

Rezac to sign Form 33CG-Power of

Attorney. YES: All. Motion carried.

Motion by Clark, second by Carlson

to designate a “Community

Day” to be determined at a later

date. YES: All. Motion carried.

Reed Miller from Miller & Associates

Consulting Engineers and

Steve Parr from JEO Consulting

Group both presented their offer

to become the Village of Valparaiso

Street Engineer. Motion by

Carlson, second by Clark to assign

Miller & Associates as the Valparaiso

Street Engineer. YES: All. Motion

carried.

Motion by Blazek, second by

Clark to approve the hookup fee of

$15.00 per day for campers in the

NRD Parking Lot. YES: All. Motion

carried.

The calculation of water and

sewer rates was discussed.

Motion by Clark, second by

Blazek to join the League of Municipalities

at an annual cost of

$1,384.00. YES: All. Motion carried.
