After not hosting Waverlyfest last year due to the pandemic, the city of Waverly pulled out all the stops to not only celebrate Independence Day, but also Waverly's 150th anniversary.

In October 2020, the city celebrated with fireworks and continued the celebration with a parade about nine months later on the Fourth of July. Along with the parade, Waverlyfest also included a community breakfast and kiddie parade sponsored by Waverly Area Kiwanis as well as a money dive at the pool sponsored by Horizon Bank.

Waverly capped the busy day with fireworks at Lawson Park.
